Fall Author Study: Mo’ Fun with Mo!

Wednesdays, September 23rd-November 4th: 3:10-4:30
(no session October 14th due to Fall Break)

We all know and love Elephant and Piggie and that crazy pigeon! But did you know Mo Willems has published over 50 picture books for kids? In this session of The Tree House, we’ll visit with alligators, meet the most scaredy-cat kid in the whole world, and discover an unexpected mystery reader as we enjoy Mo Willems’ lesser known favorites. Projects include creating “Flaneur” glasses, avoiding sorbet brain freezes, partner persuasion stations, and many more! Get ready to have some Mo’ Fun with Mo!

This session is geared towards younger readers (Kindie-2nd grade), but anyone with a love for picture books and silly Mo Willems will enjoy it!

Fall Theme Study: Mysteries Between the Pages

Thursdays, September 24th-November 5th
(no session October 15th due to Fall Break)

Fall is in the air. The mornings are a bit crisper, the leaves are beginning to drift to the ground, and there’s a slight air of mystery surrounding us as Halloween approaches. In this session of The Tree House, we’ll collectively decide on one (or two?!) different books to explore out of a carefully curated selection of engaging, richly textured chapter books. We’ll work on puzzles, create and decode secret messages and get to know some quirky characters as we work to predict and solve mysteries together. Projects include creating dioramas to visualize setting, using lemon juice to write top secret messages, learning how to dust for fingerprints, and more! Transform into detectives as we uncover these Mysteries Between the Pages!

This session is geared toward intermediate readers (Grades 3 and up), but younger kids who love a good whodunnit are also invited!
