Reading Tree is so excited to merge with Aspiring Artists to offer students this unique opportunity again this summer! This three-hour session gives students entering first through third grade the chance to participate in an academic session and a creative session each day for the week.

During their Reading Tree time, students will have the opportunity to extend the learning they’ve done during the school year. We’ll work on reading, writing and phonics each day, and children will have a chance to learn through play during our independent center time. Mrs. Lee will meet with students in small groups to ensure their specific skills are growing. Kids will be motivated to build on their individual skills, no matter where they are currently reading, moving them to greater independence and encouraging them to employ a wider selection of strategies while reading.

During their Aspiring Artists time in Session 1, Mrs. Hodges will help kids to design their own unique themed board game, complete with painted, cut, glued, sparkled, neoned, printed, stamped boards, cards, game pieces, spinners, dice, and just about anything else they can imagine! During Session 2, kids will explore the magic of neon colors with Mrs. Hodges while painting their favorite critters from nature! From glowing beetles and butterflies to vibrant frogs and other tiny gems of the wild, campers will have a blast creating bold and colorful masterpieces inspired by the natural world. Let creativity shine in this fun and electrifying art adventure!

New this summer, Books and Brushes will be offered twice! The first session will run daily from June 2nd through June 6th. The second session will run daily from July 21st through July 25th. If your child enrolls in both sessions, Mrs. Lee will offer a fun, interactive reading project that will keep us connected and reading for the six weeks between camp sessions.
